A Life Changing Experience.
In 2010 me and my wife Ashley decided to make a change in the way we lived and see how it would affect us over he next couple of years. So the first thing we did was sell the house. First off it was too big for the two of us in the first place, so downsizing was appropriate. So we went out and bought a class C (RV) and right off the bat we knew that was too small. So we traded it for a 32 ft Pilgrim Travel Trailer. Remodeled from front to back to fit our lives and business. Total cost for the change 15.000. So we started out with everything paid for and wanted to see what would happen next. So we traveled for about 6 months and stayed at several different places in Missouri and Tennessee and Mississippi, and so fourth. We decided to settle in one area in January 2011. We decided to work camp for a park owner in Alabama. (That is where you work a day or two a week and your stay is free) There is a big call for work campers today, and I was surprised how many parks in the states use them and where some of them are at. But it is an amazing experience. Now getting back to the story. We have stayed here sense January 2011, just to see how much money we will save over the next 3 years.
In 2010 the House payment was $1400.00 a month, Utilities were $450.00 a month. Pool Maintenance was $300.00 a month. Yard maintained was $350.00 a month. So the total per month was:$2500.00 a month. So in 36 months we have saved $90.000 over three years. That is just in payments. We went back into the account for this and realized we have saved well over $100.000 in three years, and we are tickled to death. We have use half the electricity and half the amount of water and we could not be more surprised at how this has turned out. After talking to my wife we have decided to stay the course, we could not be happier and could not be any closer than we are now. When you have nothing to worry about and you live a simple life you can wake up every day and do what you want, but most of all spend the time with the person you love and cherish in life, there is no better feeling. So I think we will continue this experiment and just enjoy the time we have with each other, and the stress free life we have come to love.

Update: Me and Ashley have continued to live this lifestyle and have enjoyed it even more than I could ever had anticipated it. We have went to a little bigger Rv a 32ft 5th wheel (More room for my work computers and mainly just a tad bit living and comfort room) We have traveled to some very beautiful places and meet some wonderful people. And some of these people are from all over the world and now have become very good friends with us. We love the simplicity of the whole life style and most of all we leave a very small footprint on our planet with electric costs of around 60 a month and the stress free days in which we start with a smile and no concerns about anything. Who knew that simplifying your life would be so much fun. Not to mention the nice amount of money you can save over the years not paying for all those high utility cost and house insurance and don't forget the large house payment. When we get ready to retire we will have acquired enough money to pay cash for our house and still have a very nice nest egg to live on. But I think instead of a house we will invest in a nice large Allegro Bus and continue to travel around and visit the beauty of this wonderful country and continue to meet people. I have found Joy in Life in the little things and me and my beautiful wife Ashley could not be more happy. This experiment has turned out to be the best Idea we have ever come up with. As one of my friends once told me (Ms Terri Maxwell) Life is good:)
